Hello. How are you? Hope your week has been good. Um, I am coming off on a very short trip to London this weekend. So I wanted to keep this episode nice and simple. Um sorry. I'm offering you a meditation process to help explore something that you're feeling from emotional reaction to that it could be a reaction that came up or has come up in relation to another person, or a feeling that seems to be kind of holding you back from doing something or expressing yourself or feeling free to tell you with life. Um maybe you know just that this is something that you keep getting twisted up around. Something that does come to mind. This is an opportunity to create some space for what you're feeling, to get curious about what might be happening underneath these feelings. And maybe create a little shift in how you feel, how you're saying things, and a different response, a different choice. So if you're ready, let's begin. Close your eyes and allow yourself to settle. Connecting with your breath and allowing yourself to gently arrive here in this moment. And to choose how you want to respond. So I invite you now to bring the trigger or the situation to mind. And rather than focusing on the details of what happened, just bring your attention to the feeling that the situation creates in you. When we find ourselves feeling triggered, it's tempting to focus outward on the person or on the situation. But for now, the invitation is simply to stay with what's happening within you, in your body and in your mind in this moment. Maybe it wants to push the feeling away. Maybe it wants to explain or justify it, defend against it. Maybe it wants to blame someone, go over what happened. So again, just noticing any stories that are forming around the feeling as your mind tries to find ways to change the situation, or maybe change your own behavior so that you don't have to experience this feeling again. Simply notice, bearing witness to it. So, from this place of curious observation, continue to tune in to your body, to your being in this moment, and ask yourself what am I noticing about the way I respond to this feeling? What might this pattern be trying to protect me from? How has this pattern limited me? If I didn't have to expend energy trying to avoid this feeling, what might become possible? How might I act if I didn't need to avoid this discomfort? Just noticing what comes into your awareness. A wider awareness that can hold the fear, the desire for safety, the discomfort, and the desire for something more without being completely defined by any of them. Allow yourself to sense that you are more than this pattern, that it may be part of your experience, but it isn't the whole of who you are. And that from this larger, wider, more expansive awareness, you can begin to choose new experiences for yourself. Imagine what might open up if you were no longer using quite so much energy, trying to avoid, defend against or control this feeling. Where might that energy want to go instead? Perhaps towards something you want to create, towards something you want to experience or express, towards the desire, a relationship, a way of being, or something else in your life that wants to expand. Connect with a sense of your own inner authority, freedom. Imagine yourself moving freely. As you begin to gently release the practice, taking a deeper breath, wiggling your fingers and toes. Whenever you're ready, gently opening your eyes, slowly take in your physical environment, and if you can, just take a little time to be with whatever came up for you.
