The Soft Way
Inviting In What's Next For You
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Is there something you're waiting for?
A new home.
A new relationship.
A new opportunity.
A deeper sense of confidence or purpose.
Something that's been calling to you for a while, but hasn't quite arrived yet.
In this episode, I explore ways to invite in what's next without forcing life to move faster than it wants to.
We begin with a mindful moment and a gentle reflection.
Then we explore:
- The benefit of feeling "done" with a situation
- The relationship between clarity, direction, and readiness
- How creating space can help us reconnect with possibility
- Ways to make room for what wants to emerge
- A simple question that helped me explore sovereignty in a new way
- Your energy as a form of evidence
What if you didn't need to force what's next?
What if you simply prepared the ground and let yourself be at peace?
With warmth,
Rachael

Hello. So before we dive in to today's topic, let's take a quick moment together to come back into the present, back into connection with ourselves. So wherever you are, just if you can sit up a little bit straighter and let your body be soft. So just letting your shoulders hang naturally. And just seeing if you can let go of any sense of holding in your face, in your body, in your mind. The cushion, whatever it is that you're sitting on underneath you. Feeling that sense of solidity, of support.
SPEAKER_00And also sensing that you're grounding into the earth.
SPEAKER_01Into your body. Just tune into what you're feeling as you do that. Maybe it's the mix of things. Gratitude. Disappointment. Confusion.
SPEAKER_00Excitement, maybe.
SPEAKER_01Maybe feeling is leaning a little bit more towards the side of frustration or fatigue. So just giving space to whatever is present, it's all valid, it's all okay. None of it means anything about you. Maybe a shift in your life, maybe an upgrade in your life. That you sense is emerging or has been emerging or has been wanting to happen. Or that you've been wanting it to happen. Maybe maybe a feeling of like it's about bloody time. Whether it's a new job, a new partner, new sense of confidence, maybe. And with that feeling comes the circling in your mind of judgment, of trying to fix. All completely natural and normal when we're in what feels like a phase of transition. And it feels like something bigger is wanting to take shape, but it hasn't yet. It's normal. All the feelings that come with this period of life. So firstly, honoring what's within you. So the desire that's within you for things to shift, for this thing to emerge, desire is in us for a reason. Desire is leading you to something that's important on a soul level. So it's it has a rightful place. Even if in reality the packaging or how things turn out might look a little bit different, there is purpose in it. So honoring that. You know, so there might be this feeling of being done with a situation that's signaling what you want. I don't want this. I want this. Maybe think about that as you hold whatever situation that's not quite it yet. As you hold that in mind. If I don't want this, what is it that I want to do? There was this one time when I was feeling a lot of anxiety around some legal things relating to my residency. And there was this kind of moment, it's almost like it came to a head. Like all the feelings, the energy of all those kind of dense emotions were sort of building up. And in one moment, I just decided like I don't want this. I don't want this. But truth be told, for most of the time my focus was just on trying to not feel anxious, which actually kept me stuck in anxiety. And then as I focused on what I wanted, I felt this upward rising of energy, you know. It's like I was in my power, even though nothing had actually changed. And then somehow, three weeks later, the issue was completely resolved. I say somehow, but the truth is I took certain actions that I was avoiding. Okay, so contrast creates clarity and clarity directs us, you know, it directs us. What are the actions that I need to take then? If this is what I want, what are the actions that I need to take? So just a nudge in case there could be some greater clarity, you know, some greater explicitness in your desire. But you might also be quite well aware of what you want, and in that case, the question becomes do you believe that what you want is actually possible for you? Because we often say that we want something, and then the truth is we feel and we act as though that thing is a mythical beast. You know, it's like a unicorn. Oh yeah, that thing, that thing that I've been dreaming of that's probably never gonna happen. You know, something that exists only in a dream, not in your actual human life. Now, I'm not sure about trying to make yourself believe something that you don't, but I do think there is a way to kindle the fires of no, this is actually possible for me. Of I'm ready, I see it, I feel it, I'm ready to welcome it in. This is a quiet assignment, nothing too heavy. Okay, and that is to make space to make space. By the way, there's a lot of weird noises in my environment, so if you do hear some funky stuff in the background, then just bear with me because I couldn't record in my usual spot today. So um, yeah. So making space and I mean that literally and figuratively. And I'm gonna give you some examples to kind of illustrate what I mean. So maybe you can start to think about ways that you can make some space for the things that you that are in you in in a deep way. And like I said, the packaging may look different when you actually get to to the thing when it comes into reality. It may look slightly different, but the essence of it is calling you for a reason. So here are some examples. I really want to move. I want a new home in a completely new place. I just feel it in my whole being that there is desire, there is a desire to to expand my world. And um, yeah, there are just certain things that I'm not, you know, that aren't accessible to me right now that I would like access to. And I'm really excited about this prospect of of moving. But for a number of reasons, I know that it's not time yet for me to move. I think in a year, possibly less, yes, but right now, no. So there's this feeling of I'm just done with this house, I'm done with the area that I'm living in, and I'm done with this, I'm done with that. Just noticing a lot of things that I'm done with, and yet I know it's not time. So that can be a bit frustrating, a bit of an annoying place to be. However, am I actually ready to move? Is the question. I know what I want, I know what I don't want, but am I ready to move? Is there space for me to move? So here I'm kind of speaking literally and practically. My action here has been to start a spring cleaning every weekend. And as I'm doing that, just start to really question like what are the things that I've been holding on to for years that I will not be taking with me. And since doing that, nothing has changed. I haven't magically manifested a mansion in you know, Lake Coma or whatever. Um, you know, to be to be continued. I'll give you an update when when there is one. But the point is, I don't feel stuck anymore. I feel excited. You know, like when you're packing for a holiday and there's just this thrill of of what you're gonna find when you when you go. And I feel like, you know, as I was doing it, I was just having this feeling like, oh my god, this is actually happening. I'm actually moving. Because truth be told, I've been thinking about moving for a few years, if I'm being honest. Um, but you know, my phase of life has been what it had to be. And so, as I said, I know that it's not quite the time, but it is coming. Um, but yeah, I've started to feel like just a sense of like energy in my body and this feeling of like, wow, like how exciting. Um rather than just sort of longing for it, you know, and feeling like, well, I don't have a clue when it's gonna happen. And that just feels like so far away. So it became real to me basically. It became real to me instead of just this fanciful idea, it was like, no, this is happening, like this, I'm creating this, I'm deciding this, and I'm getting ready for it. And it's funny, I even started getting emotional about actually saying goodbye to this place, you know, that has held me for a really interesting and you know, dark period actually of my life. I mean, I'm that feels kind of heavier than maybe necessary, but I had put it this way, I had a dark night of the soul in the home I'm living in. There was a lot of alchemy, shall we say, that has happened. Um, and obviously I've you know had my cats in this home. One of them died in December, bless her heart. The other is is just um, you know, not doing great, but he's he's okay, still with me. Um, but yeah, there was just this feeling of the reality of moving brought up this sense of almost just like a sense of appreciation, I guess, for the home that I've had. And the last example that I'll share is around identity and self-realization, essentially this space in the form of a question, in the form of a request. So the word sovereignty, which I have quite a hard time spelling every time I try and write it down, I'm like, what? Um, this word keeps coming through basically, um, this year, the last like couple, several weeks, at the same, um, which is really just the sense of like being my own authority, like trusting myself, standing firm in who I am, in what I believe, in what wants to emerge, um, just kind of anchoring this more deeply in me. Because obviously there are parts of me who gives my authority away. There are parts of me who's unsure and doubtful and scared and hesitant and isn't sure if you know it's safe and blah, blah, blah. So I'm trying to cultivate this. I'm intending, or I am, should I say, cultivating sovereignty? I'm like working this essence through my being, I guess. Um, but you know, that's a big word, as I said. I struggle to spell it. It's a big word and it carries a lot of weight. Um, it's kind of foreign to me. So I'm currently exploring like what does this actually mean to me? Like, how do I embody this? You know, how do I embody this? So I've been sort of reflecting and just sort of playing with life, I guess, to just sort of see what this means for me and how can I embody it on a personal level. And so the other day I was depleted. I was like, I had a really heavy like week of emotions, and I just wasn't excited about the day ahead. And yeah, I just felt very vulnerable. And before I started working, I sat down to meditate and I decided I wasn't going to do my normal mindful breathing. I was just gonna sort of create this open space to just be with myself in whatever way I needed to be. And as I did that, I this request came up that I had of my higher self, of the universe, of you know, beyond, right? And the request was show me what sovereignty looks like. Show me what sovereignty looks like, or show me what sovereignty means. I just came as I sort of sat in stillness, that that's what I wanted sort of help with in that moment. So I tuned in. I tuned in to you know, my body, to the silence, and just sort of waited. And the answer I received was really simple, a lot simpler than maybe the the idea of the ideas that were coming to me initially about sovereignty, and it was basically ground, feel your feet on the floor, feel your feet on the floor, and I could just feel my feet on the floor beneath my feet, and just this sense of groundedness and being in my body as well. That was like a big part of it, and this was unbelievably helpful that day. Like, I just kept coming back to feeling my feet on the floor throughout the whole day. I just had this like really deep and wide and soft sense of peace throughout the whole day. Like I felt so calm, like mentally, there was just space, and that made me realize how disconnected I'd been from myself in you know, the preceding days and how up in my head I'd been. Like I almost felt like my head was just flying, like I had wings on my head and it was just buzzing, you know, in contrast to actually what I felt in that moment now with this sense of groundedness. And as a result, I had just an unexpectedly positive day where I felt just calm and in control. And so my point here is that when we ask a question or we make a request, you know, space opens up, you know, the space opens up for an answer. It's like the question itself creates this space in which the answer is gonna come. We don't have to figure everything out, and that's the thing, like we can ask something beyond us, and it doesn't really matter, I don't think, whether you believe it's from you, your higher self, you know, your subconscious, God, an angel, someone was talking about dragons in a YouTube video the other day, which made me laugh. Um, you know, it could come from a dragon. Um, but the point is like, I mean, essentially the point is that the answer is within you. And when you ask a question or you make a request for knowledge, for awareness, for guidance, or whatever, you're creating space for that answer to come in at some point. So those are just a few examples of space. Like, what does it look like to create? Space for what we want, you know, for who we want to be, or what we want to experience, or where we want things to shift. And with those specific examples, I don't have massive results to share with you yet. As I said, I haven't manifested a mansion. But the point is, I have my energy back, you know, and that is all the evidence I need right now to know that space is powerful. So if we want a new romantic relationship, but there's no room in our schedule. Or we want clarity, but every single moment of our lives, of our mental life, of our physical life is filled with noise. If we want more aligned friendships, we want to meet new people that are our people, but we keep making plans with the same people who aren't really aligned to who we truly are. All of those desires are going to have to fight quite hard to make it into our physical reality. Unless we make some space. Bringing yourself into a state of inner peace in the process, which is powerful more than we realize. Enjoy experimenting, creating space, least the pressure to make stuff happen.
